GENERAL QUALIFICATION

What you need to qualify for this training program:

  • Recent Saudi graduates with a max of three years’ work experience
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree
  • Graduated with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4/4, 4.25/5
  • Age: between 22 –28
  • Fluent in English

  • Application Submission: The form includes the general information required and submission of relevant documents.
  • Application open May 8 – May 14
  • Video Submission: qualified applicants will be required to submit a video to introduce themselves and answer some questions to move to the next stage. To view a sample of the video submission, please click here



  • Recruitment review of applications: Recruiters will assess the submission form with the department managers
  • Invitation to an interview: a full day at KAUST for an interview and tour of the campus, week of July 17
  • Onboarding: Accepted applicants will receive directions on the relocation and onboarding process

Strategic National Advancement (SNA)

Strategic National Advancement (SNA) is a division charged with guiding KAUST’s strategy to create opportunities and strengthen impact through corporate social responsibility, young Saudi talent development, specialized enrichment & Saudi workforce development, national engagement, outreach, and strategic partnerships.

 

Trainees will work on digital marketing and events coordination, such as developing messaging for SNA programs, coordinating digital content creation, and uploading to the website and distribution in internal systems.

Training Program Duration: 9-month


Global Branding and Communication

Global Branding and Communication brings the KAUST brand story to global, national, and regional audiences through global media campaigns, broadcasting partnerships, digital and social media campaigns.


Trainees will liaise with University staff and researchers, working across departments and managing multiple projects for internal and external communication.

Training Program Duration: 9 months


Graduate Affairs


The Graduate Affairs Operations team has a broad range of functions and services designed to deliver the support framework that underpins the Admissions, Graduate Development and Services, and Alumni Affairs.

 

Trainees with marketing and communication background will work on projects to increase student engagement and create the "Time Capsule" project to capture a student's lifecycle at KAUST.

 

Trainees with data science background will work on projects related to data visualization and create a visual display of elements.

Training Program Duration: 9 months



KAUST Solar Center (KSC)

KAUST Solar Center (KSC) is a leader in the research and development of solar energy technologies, translating science into new applications for the benefit of the Kingdom.

Trainees will have the opportunity to develop projects to support and promote KSC’s research in Arabic language content in social media, work with KSC faculty to identify themes and stakeholders, and work with the KSC Strategic Partnership Manager to reach out to industry partners.

Training Program Duration: 9 months


Human Resources

Human Resources is the heart of the business that ensures a company's most valuable asset—its staff, researchers, faculty, and postdocs—are satisfied, engaged, and have all the resources they require to perform as expected.

 

In addition to maintaining a company’s workplace culture, HR manages recruitment, advisory, onboarding, talent management, learning & development and communications & outreach. 

 

Trainees will have the opportunity to work with the Communications & Outreach team to create motion graphics for various media platforms and turning scripts or concepts into a computer-generated animation. 

Training Program Duration: 9 months 


KAUST Innovation

KAUST Innovation is the ‘techno valley’ of the Kingdom, which supports the transformation to a knowledge-based economy. Experience the different innovation and technology transfer stages and become part of KAUST’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. 

 

Trainees will have the opportunity to activate and manage a virtual community of adventurers in the online program by supervising learner progress, addressing their questions and concerns, making sure the public discussion forums are safe and well moderated and keeping the community aware of any notices, announcements or reminders to ensure their success. 

Training Program Duration: 9 months 


Finance

The finance department at KAUST provides an effective management accounting service to the University including the preparation of budgets, management reports, short form initiatives, forward estimates, submissions, financial position reporting/evaluation, and cash flow data.

Trainees will engage in understanding the tax function and with dealing external parties or work with the financial planning team to support a planning unit/department in the development of their annual budget and have a comprehensive understanding of the financial planning activities within a university.

Training Program Duration: 9 months


Internal Audit

The Internal Audit team is responsible for evaluating the university’s risks and eliminating its threats by improving its efficiency of operations, protecting its assets and ensuring that it is legally compliant.

 

Trainees will engage in projects related to the delivery of the 2022/23 Internal Audit Plan and will involve a mixture of financial and operational audits.

Training Program Duration: 9 months


Sustainable Development

Sustainable Development is integral to KAUST's overall mission to nurture innovation in science and technology and support research in areas such as energy and the environment necessary to Saudi Arabia, the region and the world. This emphasis on sustainable practices influences KAUST's research agenda, campus planning, and operations. 

Trainees will be involved in designing, implementing, and monitoring sustainability projects and initiatives to promote the University’s sustainability vision.

Training Program Duration: 9 months


Health, Safety & Environment

Health, Safety & Environment experts are responsible for the assessment and management of environmental and occupational health and safety risk elements and ensuring compliance with all health regulations.


Trainees will engage in supporting senior environmental professionals on the implementation of biodiversity strategy and associated action plans.

Training Program Duration: 9 months


Center of Desert and Agriculture (CDA)

The Center of Desert and Agriculture (CDA) is a research center at KAUST dedicated to the study of engineering and implementation of sustainable agriculture in extreme environments.

Trainees will work closely with the Ministry of Environment, Water & Agriculture (MEWA) and mobilize key stakeholders in the Saudi food sector on the natural agenda for sustainable food security (SFS).

Training Program Duration: 9 months


Core Labs

Core Labs deliver research support, training, collaboration, and services to KAUST faculty, students, research, and partners through the stewardship and development of state-of-the-art facilities and technical expertise.

 

Trainees will have the opportunity to engage in major product development projects to gain industrial design and engineering experience, including designing, engineering, and fabricating a 1400 in3 Modular Entrained Gasifier Reactor that converts low caloric value fuel to clean syngas.

Training Program Duration: 9 months

Information Technology

Information Technology experts at KAUST are responsible for introducing a forward-thinking, intelligent cybersecurity strategy to prevent cyberattacks with an automated approach that delivers consistent security across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.


Trainees will work on projects under cybersecurity experts and assist them in their efforts to strengthen the KAUST human firewall to protect its assets and community.

Training Program Duration: 9 months


KAUST Smart

KAUST Smart is the innovation engine that allows KAUST to create and provide a unique digital experience for visitors, employees, residents, and community members. KAUST Smart pushes the boundaries of innovation across the entire spectrum of “smart city” solutions to establish KAUST as a living laboratory for digital transformation, research, and testing.

 

Trainees will participate in evaluating new and emerging technologies and assessing their potential for inclusion in smart city proof of concepts, pilots, and experiences. In addition to designing and developing solutions, prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and pilots in areas such as:

  • Wayfinding, maps
  • Augmented reality, virtual reality
  • AI, autonomous mobility… etc.

Training Program Duration: 9 months

Shushah Project

Shushah Project is a joint project between NEOM and KAUST to establish the world’s largest coral garden at Shushah Island in the Red Sea area of NEOM. This project demonstrates Saudi Arabia’s commitment to protecting 95% of nature within NEOM. 

Trainees will work on marine visualization & data management projects to support the development of tools to create, collect, process, and deliver high-resolution visualizations of the reefscape using photogrammetry.

Training Program Duration: 9 months


Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar is the custodian of official student information and records. They are responsible for registering students, creating and maintaining student records, providing certified documents, issuing transcripts, and processing grades. They are also responsible for supporting strategic enrollment by analyzing student progression and retention, graduation, and academic trends for long-term admissions and operational planning for the University.

 

Trainees will be given the space to explore and own their ideas and solutions and project manage the proposed solutions for a self-service model of the registrar’s Help Desk from conceptualization to delivery.
